Saints and Chargers Entertain Wembley Crowd in 69 Point Thriller

On Sunday 26th October 2008, the NFL returned to Wembley Stadium, London, as the New Orleans Saints and San Diego Chargers met in what was the second game in a series of regular season encounters to be played in the UK each season, until 2010.

The pre game billing of the Saints v Chargers clash promised a battle of two of the best offences in the NFL and the main event lived up to all prior expectations and more, leaving the sell out Wembley crowd on the edge of their seats until the final play of a thrilling 69 point game.

In 2007, the Wembley crowd were treated to an early glimpse of eventual Superbowl champions, the New York Giants in the 13-10 over the Miami Dolphins. New Orleans will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of the Giants in 2008. If the Saints were to go on to win Superbowl XLIII, expect to see other NFL teams queuing up to take part in the remaining two scheduled NFL London games in the 2009 and 2010 seasons.
